Cargo Cult Spanner and Slapper 3 presets folder

Hi,
I've been in contact with Justin from Cargo Cult and he couldn't pin point where my problem is.
I've installed the plugins (pt 12.8.2 / El Capitan).
In the plugins themselves I cannot reach the presets libraries of the factory in their classified folders.
All I can do is import them manually from the factory's folders but then they appear with no order of their type or purpose.
Does anyone have a solution for that issue?

Hi Guys,

I am trying to use an ASC I just purchased.

When I enter it at avid.force.com/ASC and click Submit, nothing happens, the page just reloads.

Is the site down?

Error when opening old sessions

Recently upgraded my software and all my equipment. Currently running Pro Tools 12 on a 2017 iMac with OS High Sierra 10.13.1 and a Focusrite 2i4 2nd generation interface.

I can open up a new session and everything works great, but when I try and open older sessions this error message pops up and won't allow me to get in the session.

Could not complete your request because Assertion in "/Volumes/Development/212377/ProTools/AAE/Source/AAX/CFicAAXWidget.cpp", line 822.

Any idea what I can do to fix this?

AAE Error -9178

Hello,

I finally got the new Protools 12.8 downloaded and installed (upgraded from 8.0.5), and upgraded to a new iLok3, but have encountered an error when starting Pro Tools. This error is generated when loading the plug-ins - specifically when landing on the VariFi plug-in. Once this error is shown, it will lock up and the software will not load.

AAE Error -9178
Assertion in "...SMgr_STConnectionPrep.cpp" line 152.

I have completely (I believe) uninstalled all software and drivers from PT M-Powered 8.0.5

I have removed all plugins from the plug-in folder, restarted the laptop and still get the error.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Pro Tools, rebooted and still get the error.

I have drank gin, and the error is still there - but a little fuzzier.

Has anyone else gotten this error / specific details, and if so, any help?

Avid Pro Tools Subscription Renewal Won't Refresh

Having an issue where I can't refresh my subscription in ilok manager despite having bought another year. Super frustrating considering I have work I need to do!

Can anyone help?
When I try to refresh is says that the 'Renewal is pending for the licence'

Error 607 and cannot import audio

Hi everyone,

I m new to pro tools and just ran into this problem. After update my computer system, I no longer am able to import audio files.



Could not complete the Import Audio command because Assertion in "/Volumes/Development/Code/203409/ProTools/NewFileLibs/Cfd/MacOS/Cfd_ImportAudioDialogMacOS.mm", line 607.

Anyone knows how to solve this?

Pro Tools 12.7.1 issues with Space 11.2.2

I recently updated from PT 12.4 to 12.7.1. I'm using Space 11.2.2. Since the update, twice I've opened a session and the the dry/wet mix in Space has reverted to all wet, no dry. I didn't have that problem during the brief time I was using 12.7. Is this a known bug? It's kind of unnerving to have to reset reverb parameters that I've fine tuned already. So far it's happened on both the two recent sessions I'm working on.

Technical queson tion: Installing ProTools SE with Windows 10

Hello all,
I have a MobilePre AI and with it came a free version of ProTools SE 8.0.3.

I tried to install it on Windows 10, but during the installation there was a message about a security driver needed. I continued the installation.

When I try to run the software I get a message (attached):
This software requires installation of the InterLok(R) device drivers...... download the latest installer from www.paceap.com

I cannot find any downloads in this site, and I cannot run the software.

Any solution?

going from 12.6.1 to 12.8.2 questions

Hi all,

Could not find a definitive answer from the manual so i thought i post my questions here.

I want to install the latest PT 12.8.2, i'm using 12.6.1 at the moment:
1- Do i need to uninstall 12.6.1 prior to installing 12.8.2 ?
2- I'm using a DAD interface connected to my HD thunderbolt, since i don't have any Avid interface, i assume there's no need to install the Avid hardware drivers, correct ?
3- How is 12.8.2 working out for you guys ? (i'm on a nMP and Sierra)

Hello,

I want to record my voice for a song. The way of my voice:

Voice --> Kondensator Mic --> ur22mk (48V) --> Pro Tools 12.8.

Can you give advice, which plug-in is preferred, so that the sound of my voice sounds like professional.

I know, that the most important thing is "Professional voice". But that's not the point I am asking. I only want to know: If the voice was perfect, what do I neen on PT12.8 to make a good sound?

Can the "Default Output Bus" be set to multiple output pairs?

When I create a new track, I would like it to be routed to both Out 1-2 and Out 3-4.

However, in I/O Setup, I seem to only be able to select one output pair at a time under the "Default Output Bus" dropdown menu. Control clicking a second output pair doesn't appear to work in I/O Setup.

Is there any way to accomplish this?

Pro Tools First - Shut down/Crash on Startup

I have installed PTF with no errors. I have my iLok setup correctly. I am running Windows 10 Home on a machine that exceeds specs. I have been searching on here for a couple days and read through what I thought was similar but no luck. Latest version 12.8.2

When I launch PTF the splash box appears and it begins "initializing databases" then it appears to go to "Login to Account" and then it crashes every time. There are no error messages, just crash box. Holding the N button down does nothing. My account is valid and works fine in the application manager.

On the surface it seems to fail at the login and never gets beyond that.

I have removed and re-installed 3 times with same problem.

I have a 3rd Generation MBox with updated drivers.

Has anyone had any issues like this. Any body have any words of wisdom.

Low volume and distortions problem

Hey. I'm new to pro tools. I use a scarlett solo and a MIDI keyboard. The problem is that the virtual instruments (primarily the piano and other keyboards) begin to distort at high volume, as a result, the recording is too quiet. I tried to use the equilizer, but it did not give much improvement. Are there any solutions?

Hello Community ! :-)

I have been away from PT for quite some time as I was sick for a while. Am now returning and have what will probably appear to be an ultra basic question so I apologize in advance for that.

I have some hearing issues. My equipment is solely for the purpose of recording a grand piano. Because of my hearing problems I would like to be able to wear my headphones when playing the piano and I would also like to use an equalizer to adjust different spectrum of the piano. I have a set of Bose noise cancelling headphones that would be great for this.

Would someone please tell me again how I can insert a EQ plugin, put PT in record enable, and be able to use the EQ while playing and listening through headphones. I seem to remember that "automation" might be the way....

HD Native Thunderbolt w/ Thunderbolt 3

I am looking to upgrade to an HD system but my iMac only has Thunderbolt 3 ports, and the HD native only has a Thunderbolt 2 connection. What is the preferred way toconnect the Avid HD Native Thunderbolt interface to a Thunderbolt 3 equipped computer?
