pt 9.0.6 crashes when importing session data

trying to import tracks from one session to another with the plugins, notes, levels, etc. when i try pro tools crashes without an error message. I've tried trashing the prefs. This is a fresh install of windows and pro tools. I used to be able to do it just fine before the fresh install.
