Just curious about this... Why mix a full 5.1 mix, meaning 6 actual mono files... l, c, r, ls, rs, lfe so I can control what goes to the sub channel and how much when Dolby Digital takes 5 actual channels and sends some data to the LFE based on its algorithm? I mean why am I mixing a sub channel if its taking the data from 5 discrete mono files? Is this channel encoded somehow in the 5 channels so it produces more Sub or do I just have to test mix after encoding to say DVD each time I want to hear the true Dolby Digital outcome?
