Hi, I recently received my email notification that my free upgrade to PT11 for my student license (bought for PT10) was available. I have never upgraded my PT install before.
I waited a while till hopefully issues were worked out with iLok before beginning the install process today.
I was following the procedure to download and activate, successfully logging into Avid, inputting the product code given in the email, and providing my iLok user ID. Instead of next seeing a registration screen for PT11 which is what's supposed to be there according to the instructions, I get a blank Avid page with nothing downloading. There are no messages whatsoever, like "incorrect iLok user ID."
What gives? I am using an iLok2.
I also saw that the URL Avid gives in case you run into a problem leads one to their handy paid-support options, additional products to buy, and a knowledge base which has nothing about this particular problem. Hmm. This wouldn't be why some folks less Buddhist than myself experience frustration with Avid, would it?
I do appreciate that the challenges of writing installation procedure for 10.x and 11.x simultaneously are more rigorous than most. I also thought I might make it over the first hurdle before bombing out!
