Hooking up a studio PRO TOOLS HELP

Hello all. I recently have been given the position of being the engineer for a well known studio here. The engineer that was working here wasn't making the cut so he was ousted. I have experience working in a professional studio with some great artists, but the problem is I only had to run the equipment in the studio, I didn't ever mess with hooking up the hardware side of things. Everything has been unplugged from the studio and while the cables are all here, I'm kind of at a loss as to how to hook up all of this stuff and get it running.

In the past I have been more of a producer and engineer setting up basics as opposed to having a solid understanding where everything plugs in and so forth. I guess this would be a great opportunity for me to learn more on this side and I believe that information might help out the bands I am working with, with me being more knowledgeable. Anyway, here is the equipment that I have to work with:

MacBook Pro
Rack 003 +
Control 24 Board
Focusrite ISA 828
Line 6 POD Pro

I'm trying to figure out what pre amps would be the best to use and how to hook everything up. So far I know that the 003+ is plugging into my computer. I would say the Focusrite is probably a better preamp than the 003+, and I think the control 24 has Focusrite preamps, but I do not know how they compare to the ISA828. In any case I would like to be able to use the control 24 for the faders and as a console instead of just using my laptop.

One big thing I'm trying to wrap my head around is it seems to me like running a signal through any of these units will pick up another preamp and start getting redundant. For example lets say I run my mic in through the Focusrite ISA 828, and then run the out of the ISA 828 to the Control 24 so I can use the console. I assume it is then also picking up the Control 24 Pre Amp, and finally if I take an out of my control 24 into the input of my 003+ so I can plug into my computer, once again I pick up another pre amp from the 003+. Am I thinking this through right?

Anyway, I would like to be able to use at least 8 channels of the highest quality pre-amp possible, or be able to switch for different characteristics if possible (running different pres) and also be able to pull them through the control 24 as my console, AKA huge mouse and keyboard. Plus it looks cool to the clients.

I would say that probably most of the recordings I'll be doing will be track by track, so I won't need more than 8 channels working at a time. Though it would be nice to be able to leverage all the equipment and have 24 channels with different preamps at my finger tips on the board. But I think the 003+ is bottlenecking down the signal I can get to just 8 channels plugging into my computer as the interface. Maybe we'll get another one in the near future to help out with that.

Here are some pictures I hope will help out figuring what exactly needs to plug into what. First is the back of the Control 24:

NEXT is the back of the 003+

Finally the POD PRO unit which I guess would be good for some direct bass or effects on guitar:

I think that is the best resources I can provide to help me. If someone could tell me what plugs into what, that would be a GREAT help. I will send many kudos, lol, some free tracking if you want. Thank you so much in advance guys!
