Confused about comping/ playlist

I thought if I made a playlist on my audio track I could then comp the different playlist .01, .02 etc...without loop recording. But that's not right, is it?

So just to make sure I understand, although I have six playlist guitar parts on mono audio track 2, I can't comp them since I did not loop them?
