Hey Pro Tools folks!
I have just started in my digital recording experience and I am already stumped, probably won't be the last time. Please excuse my lack of lingo knowledge, I am a total newb at this, although I have wanted to record my jams for a long time.
I recently downloaded Pro Tools 12.8. I already owned Superior Drummer 2.0 and EZ Keys Classics so I thought I would try to lay a track with those for my first shot. I watched several tutorials and read through countless forum threads and finally took a shot. I opened a new track, chose stereo and instrument track and pushed create. I then went to the mix tab and under inserts A-E I hit multi-channel plug-in, instrument, Superior Drummer Multiout (stereo). I thought I was in business. I armed the channel, hit record and play and began to try record. The cursor was moving as if it was recording and the input meter was reacting. I could here the drums clearly through my speakers as well. It was not laying down any midi graphical dashes and when I went to try to playback, there was no sound or meter reaction. I tried this several more times, changing outputs, inputs to no avail. I also tried the EZkeys VI with same results. I searched through the forums and could find nothing that addressed this. Oh and one more thing, the sound only comes from my left speaker. When I play the VI without going through PT, it plays in both speakers. Any ideas?
All this was done on the computer, not with a control surface or MIDI controller. Please see below my computer specs and please let me know if more information is needed. My interface is a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2. I do have the on board sound card disabled. I believe I included all that is requested in the forum guidelines.
Thanks,
Nathan
