Having my 1rst D-Command issue with Fader
I have 2 faders that are not responding to my touch about 90% of the time for volume automation. My workaround is to simply nudge the tracks over to faders that are working properly. Is this a sign that the faders are going bad or is there some other type of solution?

Assertion error, stuck in loop

Now I'm caught in an endless loop of Copying the Error Message or the OK button. The message box will not close.
This error occurred in the middle of recording an Instrument track w/ XPand! plug-in.
Any ideas?

Monitor clipping with no signal input.
I'm new to pro tools. I'm sorry in advance. Ive searched youtube and posts to find a solution for my problem and i've got nowhere for 3 days.
As you can see from the pics below, even without a signal being sent to the input, the output from pro tools DAW is clipping. If I just use the scarlett software without having pro-tools open, i can get it to work fine as far as hearing my guitar through the monitor within the scarlett. When I try to open it in pro-tools, i immediately get the noise as soon as i activate a input channel on my new track. I've tried erasing all the I/O in protools and starting over. that didn't work. I reset to default, that didn't work. HELP!!
I've attached pics of my I/O settings hoping it is a simple fix that someone with experience can show me.
I am running this on a Dell inspiron13, I76500 2.5ghz, 8gb ram, windows 10 64bit. I just re-downloaded the software yesterday, and ran updates just in case. my scarlett was also just downloaded and updated yesterday (I deleted everything and tried to start over). the settings on my computer audio are all set to the scarlett for recording and playback.

Two aggregated interfaces plus two ADATs. Is it possible?
Can anyone tell me if it's possible to have an aggregate device with two interfaces which both have two ADATs connected to them?
So I would have an Apollo Twin with a Behringer ADA8200 connected via light pipe, aggregated to a Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 with a Presonus DigiMax LT 8 connected via light pipe?

Protools First keeps defaulting to 44.1kHz sample rate.
I am doing my Masters research in online collaboration. I am wanting a colleague of mine to collaborate on some projects. They have installed Protools First, hoping to collaborate with me as they normally use Logic Pro. He is running a Universal Audio Apollo 8 interface with a MacBook Pro 2.3GHz Core i7 17 running Sierra 10.12.6. I have the full HD Protools Ultimate. The issue we are having is that every project I create on my system at 48kHz 24 Bit and share him into. It automatically changes the session on his system to 44.1kHz sample rate. This means the project has audio out of sync. We have tried the following troubleshoots
1/ Closing ProTools> resetting his Apollo 8 to 48kHz> Opening up PT1 while holding down 'n' to bring up the playback engine dialogue box, making sure PT1 is also set to 48kHz> then re-opening the project. Still reverted to 44.1kHz
2/ trashing his preferences (com.avid.ProTools.plist). This worked when he created his own project in 48kHz, however, when he opened up my project, it reverted back to 44.1kHz.
We cannot change his setting once the project is open. As I am the owner of the project, it is still showing as a 24-bit 48khz project on my system. Can you please help us with this?

Hello all - I have Pro Tools First and can't get it to initialize for some reason. I tried to search for the answer in the troubleshoot, but then got into another issue with the iLok. Both issues are described below:
1) Pro Tools First gives me the common error of "Unable to locate hardware". Since I am not well-versed in audio softwares, I am not sure what hardware the system is referring to. I tried to plug my Lexicon Omega just to see if this is what it refers to, but the error remains. In the troubleshoot someone mentioned something re the iLok, which leads me to the second problem.
2) Upon opening the iLok manager, I saw that Pro Tools First is not activated on my computer. So, I tried to activate it by clicking the "activate" button. Transpose single midi drum note
I have a midi drum loop recorded on a single track and would like to understand if there is an easy way to transpose a single midi snare hit to a different key. Ideally i'd like to do this without breaking the midi drum components into separate tracks. Any suggestions?

Drum Replacement - What's everyone using?
It kind of blows my mind that in HD (or Ultimate, whatever it's called these days) we don't have a simple audio -> midi tool but I was wondering what everyone was using for this task.
Normally I don't replace drums but I'm mixing a project that really needs some help.
I don't need any libraries, just a simple audio -> midi convertor. I have Komplete and a bunch of drum libraries.

need older version of first
For crying out loud they make it difficult. I use PT 11 at work but want to install PT first 12.3.1on an older macbook to do basic edits when i am on vacation. it only gave me links for the latest versions. Tried to find link to contact support but it looks like it wants me to do a paid ticket. Can someone assist? geeze been using this since 1995 and they have made it more difficult each year.

Newbie Question - How to automate inserted FX part way through
I apologize for what is probably a very basic and simple question, and I've read forums and manuals but not sure how best to do this.
I have a song where I'd like to insert a STEREO WIDTH FX on the master fader, but have the FX start and stop repeatedly throughout the song. Almost as if part of the song is in mono, then the stereo kicks in, then it kicks out again. I can put the FX on the master fader as an insert, but how do I automate it so the FX turns on and off when I want it to?

Workspace Bug: Can't Edit File Comment of Last File in List
With several audio files listed in the Workspace browser (e.g. when looking at a folder of sounds), I find that I cannot edit the File Comment field for whichever file is on the bottom row of the table. If I resort the list, then I can edit the File Comment for the file that used to be at the bottom of the table but cannot edit that field for the new file at the bottom of the table.
Can anyone else please confirm this is a bug? I am using Ultimate 2018.4, but I'm pretty sure this bug goes back months, if not years. I just never got around to reporting it.

PT 11.3.2 track limit?
I've read the manual and a number of posts on this as well as other forums but I'm puzzled by the behavior I'm running into, which has never happened before.
I currently have 82 tracks: a mix of instrument, audio, and aux inputs. If I try to add any new aux input or audio tracks, it lets me create them, but they disappear from the edit and mix windows as soon as I hit the play. In the track listing on the left side the dot that shows that it's visible disappears.
I only recently (during this project) updated from 11.1(? ) to 11.3 and this never happened with the older version.
I use templates that have a lot of inactive tracks (that I won't need for this project). I went through and deleted over two dozen of these and this behavior is still occurring.
I was operating under the assumption that 96 is my limit. Running regular (not HD) PT 11.3.2.
I can further pare down the 82 to a smaller number, but isn't 96 the limit?

Audio quality changes? Ignore errors in pb/rec
Hi guys,
There seem to bee a hugse difference in the use of resources when engaging the "ignore errors during record and playback": On my iMac Pro with a couple of VIs and some audio tracks with plug-ins I get huge spikes on the system when the "IEDP&R" is not engaged. When I have the option selected, it's actually very calm, all the way down to just 3% usage, overall. I use a lot of instruments in the box and I really can't print all the time, so to get the job done I have to use the ignore function. Even on a brand new, up to date Mac.
I know I might get pops and clicks etc. as a result of selecting ignore errors, but the difference in performance is huge. So my questions are:
1. Is there also an audio quality difference in checking/not checking the function?
Beyond pops and clicks - but in file compression or similar?
2. When bouncing in offline mode, will the system bypass error suppressing and possible reduction of audio quality?
Avid guys in here? Maybe you could look into it?

Pro Tools 2018.4 Hardware Insert Problem
The hardware inserts on the Mono channels are not working properly. It has input but no output. The Stereo inserts are working fine. I tried the hardware inserts on Studio One 3 and its working just fine on Mono and Stereo just to confirm the hardware is hook up correctly. Both are on there same rig. I double checked the I/O settings and everything is as it should be. Can someone check this and see if it's working on your system?
