HD 11.3.2 upgrade creates DAE error for Channelstrip, DYN and D-Verb plugs - help!!

I've just updated from HD 11.1.3 to HD 11.3.2.

All works fine except I suddenly cannot open following included plugins with an "AAE error - 7054 was encountered" ;

ChannelStrip
Dyn3 - compressor,
Dyn3-expander
Dyn3 - De-esser
D-Verb


I have remained with OSX 10.8.5 as I need to continue to access HD 10.
Also called AVID support yesterday and reinstalled Air Creative Collection 11.1.
Still no go.
Has anyone resolved a similar issue?
THanks in advance for suggestions and hopefully a resolution process.

I'm considering replacing my MBox Pro2 with the Apogee Quartet for my Mac Tower. Anyone using it? I like the 5.1 option but will be mostly using it in stereo. I'm currently using the Apogee One with my MacBook and it works well with PT. Thanks.

I've been holding off posting since I'm new to 12.7 and still finding my way around. I was on 9.6 before and some of the changes made don't make much sense to me like adding the ability to purchase plugins right there on the screen. I guess Avid sensed that plugins are now the big $$ attraction. Anyway, here's my first question. What is the proper use of clip gain? By that I mean, when you click on the little symbol at the bottom left of the clip and the little fader appears, what are you supposed to adjust the dB level to? -10, 0, or other? Do you set all to the same dB level? I know that sounds dumb but that's where I'm at. Any response is appreciated. Thanks :confused::-)

Bounce bug?

Two songs I recently recorded were ok until I bounced them, (I sent them to iTunes. Much easier to find them after the bounce than the old method. Now when I reopen the sessions several bars are missing from the start of the songs. (No sound until about the 3rd or 4th bar!). I highlighted all the tracks from start to finish, top to bottom which, as I understand is the proper procedure before bounce. Funny thing is the iTunes playback is the complete song. I forgot to say, I'm on PT's 12.7 if that matters. Anyone? Thanks.

Hello all,

I didnt see other posts that related to this exact error code so I was hoping someone here may be able to clarify how to fix it or what can be done differently.

The video editor is working off Premier Pro and Exported an OMF for me to begin the audio edits. The audio is Embedded, max handles, no video track.


ProTools 12.5.2.511
Export Program: Premier Pro
iMac 10.11.6


Error Code:

Could not complete the Import Tracks command because Invalid TOC code read (0xD4000000) from TOC in container "filename"In omfsOpenFile



Any help would be appreciated!

Question about Pro Tools 9 HD with non-HD hardware (003 Rack)

Hi,

I've only just been reading about this, but is it true that Pro Tools HD 9 will still work even if I don't have an HD audio interface and Core PCi card, so it will still run with my 003 rack over firewire ?

And then when it does work, will it be the equivalent of ProTools 9 (non HD) + Complete Production Toolkit v2, obviously without the hardware latency benefits though. So I can effectively get HD software benefits from my legacy LE hardware ?


My set up at the moment is : Pro Tools LE v8.05, 003 Rack and C|24. This all works great and latency during record is tolerable for my applications.

I mainly want surround sound mixing channels added, so was looking previously for ProTools 9 (non HD) + Complete Production Toolkit v2, but this is very difficult to find a copy of.

So my question is if I get a copy of Pro Tools 9 HD, will that give me the same set up as if I had Pro Tools 9 (non HD) + Complete Production Toolkit v2 AND will still work normally with my 003 rack and C|24 set up ?

If so it sounds the perfect solution, rather than have to also replace the 003.

Is it me or ProTools?-tuning issues

This is a weird one but I sure would like some input. Have any of you noticed what I will call an anomaly for lack of a better term. When I play a guitar chord tuned to natural pitch with either a clip on strobe or the TL in tune plugin, and I play it back it sounds as if the chord goes flat after the initial strum. I'm also having trouble tuning guitar to match my Yamaha DGX500 keyboard. I thought that a digital keyboard was supposed to stay tuned to natural pitch but there is a definite pitch difference when I tune the guitar as stated. I hope this is not an indication that my hearing is on the downside. Any comments that will help. Thanks. :eek:

Upgraded from Pro Tools First - Big Dissapoinment

Just wanted to say that i got some hardware from Focusrite.And started to create music.With the Focusrite hardware i got the Pro Tools First.After mounths of research,tutorials,work,i managet to finsh my 2 first songs...But i decided to invest some money and try to take my hobby to an other level.so i decided to buy pro tools pro...The disapontment was huge.for a mounth of PTP,i payed 34 dollars.The issue is that the ilok key is 50 dollars+20 dollars shipment.i swear to you,i almoust didnt want to buy it.for me,in 21st century,with all the technology outthere this,seems robery.tooked me 2 hrs to decide.ok...so lets pay the 120 dollars to use 1 month PtP...and see if i like it...after i spend 120:mad: dollars i had issues of activating PtP.I dont understand yet why ilok exists,couse nothing worked from them.Big joke.:mad:After a few hrs of aditionally work,i managet to finaly start PtP.The true surprise is that,Pro Tools First and Pro Tools Pro have nothing in commnon,just the starting window.All shortcut keys from PT1 don't work,and i spend the last 30 minuts to try to find a list of those shortcuts somewhere on the web.Ofcourse,the list is wrong,or its for MAC.if i could,i would ask for a refound...but can any1 tell me where do i get a list of shortcut keys for Pro Tools Pro for windows???And can any1 tell me why shoul i start learning Pro Tools Pro knowing that if i will ever need to upgrade to HD that will be a seccond disaster?i am not a producer.i just found a hobby in creating music.but im pretty shure that i will not get back to buy anything else from AVID.Why did u change the shortcuts?WHY????Nothing seems logic to me.Im frustrated and angry.Tomorrow i will start over.But why do you guys have to make things so hard???Its ilogic.:(

Wiping default file name from bounce screen?

A few months ago I worked on a podcast project with a crime reporter about Dylann Roof's mass murder trial (Roof is the kid who remorselessly shot up a church in Charleston, SC back in 2015). It was grim stuff.

I bounced the finished file—innocuously—as "Dylann Roof Trial" since that's what the story was about. We finished the project and we all moved on to other, less horrifying things. Since then, for reasons I can't explain, every time I create a new unrelated Pro Tools session and bounce out a file, the bounce screen automatically assumes I want to call this new file "Dylann Roof Trial". It's been months and I've worked in dozens of new sessions since then.



Normally I wouldn't care that the default name isn't correct and that I have to manually change it to match the name of the actual session (that's annoying but whatever), but for the past 5-ish months I've had to look at the words "Dylann Roof Trial" on a sometimes daily basis when I'm working on something else. At first it was harmless, but after a while it started to get depressing. It's quite frustrating and sad to be forced to think about this mass murderer randomly throughout the day, simply because Pro Tools is having a memory issue.

I desperately want to either trick Pro Tools into remembering a different default name or wiping it's memory of that session entirely. I have deleted the original session, but that hasn't seemed to work.

So my question is: Where does this information live? And how can I get rid of it? Would like to have happier thoughts while I work :-)

Any tips appreciated.

3rd party plugin control with Dock

I am considering purchasing an S3/Dock setup to replace my failing D-Command and the one thing that has me concerned is how well the softkeys and knobs work with 3rd party plugins. In particular, I'd like to use it with DMG equilibrium and various UAD EQs and compressors.

I mix several TV shows (outdoor adventure with terrifyingly bad Lav DX) and I have become really reliant on the EQ section of my D-Command and preview mode for quickly dealing with the sometimes syllable by syllable changes in tonality.

How happy are you with your PT Dock in this regard?

Alright. i have a stupid stupid issue...

so i recently moved my studio from my garage to my bedroom and now... everything is set up the way i want it however i had to lose my novation maudio controller... but in the past i have connected my Motif XS8 to pro tools as a MIDI controller but now... i cannot remember and it is one of those moments where i am completely blanking out for no reason, I use a Presonus STUDIOLIVE 16.0.2 board i just cant remember the midi wire sequence...

a detailed tutorial (if any) would be great! like i said before i used the behemoth-of-a-keyboard as a midi controller as well as a synth just cannot remember!

Drag and drop from explorer not working (PT12.7 HD)

Coming from 10, I used this function regularly when importing audio files outside of the libary.
But it is not working in 12.7 Win10.

I've searched a lot and there seem 3 reasons:

1 - Disable UAC (user account control)
I did this already by putting the slider all down.

2 - Do NOT run as administrator
Tried this too but has no effect.

3 - It is a bug introduced in PT11.
Really? And is has not been fixed since?

Anyway, I hope this is a thing I can fix or I'm lost...
Importing with the 'Import audio' dialog is straight hell (why would one do that...)
Importing with workspace works better but requires navigating to the folder (again).

Voice usage meter on PTHD without hardware

This might be a better question for the main PT12 forum but maybe somebody here would know.

Is there a way to check your voice usage without an HDX or HD Native card? I guess I've been spoiled and never had a complex mix without one. I had to import a large batch of stems and got a message that I was over the voice limit and some tracks wouldn't play. I went to check and it didn't show up in the System Usage window like usual. It would have been very helpful to know how many voices I was using... I guess you have to have the hardware to know if you're running out of steam? That seems silly, please tell me I'm wrong.

Artist Mix becomes unresponsive

EUCON Workstation v4.0.0x11754885

Maybe 2-3 times a day, I will lose connectivity with my Artist mix. It seems to always occur when I cmd+tab to one program and back into PT. It doesn't happen every time I leave PT and come back. The solution I have for now is to open Eucontrol in the system preferences and click the "Stop" button, wait a few seconds and hit it when it turns into "Start" (essentially, closing out all Eucontrol applications and reopening them).

Has anyone experienced this before and possibly have a fix? It would be great if the thing just worked all the time.
