No Reaper ( Rewire ) in plugin menu

Hello,

I reinstall my PC with W10 and PT2020.
All is working GREAT.

I have to use one plug on Repear.
I installed Reaper -32 bits- after installing Protools on this new PC.
The plug appears on Reaper, no problem...

I erased the Protools Preference folder, thanks to this page :

But when I launch Protools, no Reaper on Instrument track -stereo or even mono-

Any idea ?

Midi sounds bad through Xpand2

Just recorded a piano the other day. Now trying to record again and can't get rid of bad sound from Xpand2. Weird problem. I have restart PT and computer. Using GarageBand and may turn off PT perpetual subscription.

Anyone seen this before?

Help With Midi

Hey guys

Ok, I had the 2020 version, but, had a problem, tried this version again, same problem.

I cant import midi files created in reaper. Literally that! Only protools has this problem, I have download other DAWs, software etc, and, it imports fine to them, knows its channel 10 (these are drum tracks), but, PT will not. Once you get the file, press ok, nothing, menu goes, nothing imported

Really isnt making sense to me, specially as other software works fine

Anyone come across this before? at all?

I raised a support case, but, they usually reply about a month down the line, if at all

PT 12.5 Project/collab upload failing

Hi everybody


First of all - thanks for a great forum.


My problem is this :


I can´t upload anything in Projects - download works fine.
I´ve done a clean install of OS 10.11.6 (El Capitan) and Pro Tools 12.5 (which, by the way, works fine, except for upload in Projects.) I have bought Cloud space and Avid Link is installed.



I get a SSL error message (picture attached)


Has anyone encountered this problem and perhaps has a fix for it ?

EuCON/Ethernet Connection Question

Quick question about how to best connect my devices (Dock, S3 and iPad) to my Computer via Ethernet in the best way.

My Computer has only one Ethernet Port that I am currently using for connection to Network/Internet. I want to connect my EuCON Devices directly via Ethernet to my PC, without (if possible) introducing additional latency. So I'm wondering which of these options would be best:

  • 1. Use a network switch, plug it into the router and then connect all the EuCON Devices and also my PC to it. Will the EuCON Signals then travel directly to my PC or will they go via router, which might introduce additional latency?
  • 2. Connect a USB to Ethernet Adapter and use the network switch there to assure that the signal is not going via router, but the USB might still introduce possible latency (or compatibility?) issues too?

Any help or pointing in the right direction is appreciated. Thank you :)

Eucon is dropping features?

EUCON used to follow the Nuendo KC Folder to the letter. If you wanted a feature, it was either already in place as a preset, or you looked in the KC folder and found the address, then you followed the same path in EUCON and activated that function on whatever key you wanted.

Now, I'm noticing that fewer presets work and even ones that were written no longer work! I'm having to go into the EUCON page to write custom KCs to get back functions that I already had from EUCON. So far, I've had to replace CLEAR SOLO, OPEN MIDI EDITORS, CHANNEL MONITOR and several others. :eek:

What's going on? Why are these functions no longer working?

2020.3 is mostly snappy, but has anyone else noticed laggy beach balls when you drop a marker, select ALL groups and copy paste, etc? Is my template just too large? Just under 1300 tracks...

Annual sub, internet goes down, ProTools quits

Today I lost my internet connection while working in ProTools 2020 (latest vanilla). I have a prepaid annual sub for it that renews on the 15th of the month - a week from now.

A few minutes after the connection went down, ProTools issued a warning that there was no license for Heat, and said it would shut down in 5 minutes. It asked if I wanted to save, and when I hit 'yes', and it shut down.

This does not line up with what I have been led to believe about these subs - i.e. they only need to be online every 30 days for a month to month, but an annual sub, should work until the renewal date - a year from purchase.

This sounds like a problem with the subscription check system. Any ideas?

Video on Second Monitor

When I boot up and open my last saved session of PT 2020.3, it will not 'remember' to open the video window on my second monitor (Apple Cinema Display), which was open on this monitor when I saved the session. I have to recall a window config using Memory Locations to get the position to the way it was last saved. If I then save the session again and re-open it will now remember the position of the video. So issue only occurs when first booting up.

I've tried trashing prefs and I've removed all third party plugins. This happens on both my iMac Pro and MBP.

Anyone any ideas?

Video issues with 12.4

I am trying to work on a scoring project and I have a video I have converted from mp4 to mov and imported into a new session, but it will not play in the video window in PT 12.4. The playhead moves but the image remains still throughout. Any ideas on how to make it play?

Premiere Pro AAF import Issue

The AAf comes from the Picture Editor who works in Premiere Pro 13.1.0

He exported a separate (referenced) AAF. The Audio Folder looks ok (12gB, in 38 min. program), the Audio Files get new (long number) names like Premiere normally does it.

The problem is that the (tiny) AAF File shows all 19 Audio-Tracks which only inculde 8 random Audio-Clips (which are not even re-linkable).

The Picture Editor re-imported the AAF to Premiere itself and it looks complete btw.

Any leads about what to try next?

AAF not importing Clip Gain from Premiere

I'm working on a project where I absolutely need the Clip Gain and Keyframe Automation from Premiere to come through in the AAF. For some reason the Keyframe Automation is coming through but the Clip Gain is not. I have checked:
• Import Clip Gain
•*Import Volume Automation

and I even tried to select:
•Import Rendered Audio Effects


When I open the dialog box by clicking Choose "Track Data to Import" the Clip Gain, Clip Effects and boxes are greyed out.

I have not asked the editor to try and OMF yet.

Can someone please help me troubleshoot how to get both Clip Gain and Keyframe Volume Automation to come through in the AAF?

Basic panning fundamentals, using math without heavy math

Mono track containing "Take A", center-panned. Stereo track containing "Take A" in both channels.

1. How much louder is the stereo track compared to the mono track when:
a. Stereo track is hard panned <100 and 100>
b. Stereo track is centered / mono-summed 0 and 0

Two stereo tracks, each with "Take A" in both channels. One stereo track is hard panned <100 and 100> and the other stereo track is centered 0 and 0. Why does the centered track sound louder?

I don't need a math thesis, I am just trying to understand mono/stereo panning at a basic level.

Loop play is not working

I don't know if anyone is having the same issue, but when I select an area and try to play it in a loop, it ignores it and simply continues forward.

Quick punch is not enabled
No Tracks are in record mode
Tried pre/post roll on off

On a Windows system...

I am at wits end....

Is anyone else having this issue?

By now, it's obvious that between the #4 pan knob problem and the automation timeout issue, this thing is a boat anchor.

Mine has since been replaced by AVID and the replacement will not communicate with EuControl for anything. A total dud.

This a a product that should be recalled and refunded.
